XMAS TOY RUN
Who
says there’s nothing going on in the winter? We were lucky enough
to go on the toy run in Torbay area organised by Future Bikers to
deliver presents to under privileged, sick & disabled kids. We
left Newton Abbot & visited Torquay & Paignton before ending up in
Dartington for drop number 10, the last one. What a cracking turn
out! Guys on Harley’s dressed as reindeer in front of Santa on a
bike pulling a sleigh full of presents. All told, 91 people turned
up, most with carrier bags full of presents. There were free
pasties & tea & coffee laid on half way through & a free buffet at
the Lime Tree in Paignton at the end.
The atmosphere on the run was
amazing, with people waving & tooting horns at us as we went from
drop to drop & this was topped only by the looks of delight and
the size of the smiles on the kids faces. It just served to remind
us of just how fortunate we are to be just happy & healthy. It
doesn’t take a lot to make a difference to these kids’ Christmas.
Well done to Nicki & all involved, it turns out she has enough
presents left over to do another couple of runs in Torbay &
Exeter. An experience highly recommended by the Bikers Guide & we
look forward to joining you on the Easter Egg run next.
Cheers
